1.economic/economical

两者均可表示“经济的”，其区别可简单地概括为：

① economic：主要与“财政（即金钱）”有关

E.g.：The boy left school for economic reasons.

② economical ：主要与“节约”有关。

E.g.：To rent a house is more economical than to buy one.

租房比买房更经济节约。

2.ensure/insure

① insure：保险，给...投保

E.g.：Fan Bingbing decided to insure her face for $10 million.

② ensure：确保

E.g.：Please ensure (that) all lights are switched off.

③ 当表示“保证”的意思，两者通用，英国人爱用ensure，美国人爱用insure。

E.g.：a colorful historical period 丰富多彩的历史时期

4.invaluable/valueless

① invaluable：highly valuable，precious 非常贵重的，其同义词是priceless.

E.g.：Your services are invaluable to us．

你对我们的帮助是极其宝贵的。

② valueless的意思是“毫无价值的”，其同义词是worthless.

E.g.：That book is valueless．

那本书毫无价值可言。

5.affect/effect

①affect (v.)：影响

E.g.：Smoking affects health.

抽烟影响健康。

② effect (n.)：效果，影响

E.g.：Government policy will not have any effect on us.

6.sensitive/sensible/sentimental

①sensitive：敏感的、感觉的、易受影响的，tive一般表特性。
